Telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876. He was a teacher of deaf children and used a code of symbols invented by his father for teaching. His interst in the human voice and the realization that speech produces sound waves vibrating in air, led him to become the first person to successfully transmit speech by means of a electrified wire. His telephone had a disadvantage that is had to be moved quickly from mouth to ear and the sound was very faint model and produced a more powerful and successful telephone.
