Snooker is a game similar to billiards and is played with a
wooden cue on a billiards table with 22 balls. There is one white ball, 15 red
balls with a score of one each and seven colored balls, valued as yellow (2),
green (3), brown (4), blue (5), pink (6), and black (7). The player starts by
potting a red, then any color, then another red and so on. Each time a red is
potted, it stays back in the pocket, but the colored balls are put back on
their respective spots on the table. After all the red balls have been potted,
the player tries to pot the colored ones in their correct order starting with
the yellow. When the black is potted, the game is over. If a player fails to
score, his opponent comes to the table. The players try to make a stroke so
that the ball, the opponent has to strike, is obstructed by another ball. If
the opponent fails to hit the correct ball, he suffers a penalty.
