Robinson Crusoe was the famous here of an adventure story
written by an Englishman, Daniel Defoe in 1719. The story tells how Robinson
Crusoe, a sailor, got marooned on a desert island after his ship got wrecked.
Being the only survivor, he had to fight hard to survive all alone for many
years and , later, he befriended a local boy whom he named Friday. Defoe got
the idea for the story from the real-life tales of shipwrecked sailors. He
wrote several novels including Moll Flanders.
