Winston Churchill was a great British prime minister, war leader, and writer. He began his career as a soldier. He later joined politics and became a senior minister in Parliament before and during World War-I, although he was not very powerful then. In 1940, when the World War-II threatened Britain, the country chose him as its prime minister.
As a leader during wartime, he showed great courage and determination. His roaring speeches helped the people of Britain to fight on when they stood alone against Germany and her allies. He died in 1965.
